Trinity United Methodist Church
A church in the heart of the community with a heart for the community.
Children's Ministry Events:
Compassion Camp in partnership with St.Mark’s UMC
This summer, we will join together to experience the meaning of these words: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” ~ Mark 12:30-31a (NRSV). Over the course of six weeks in the summer, our churches will learn, grow, and serve as we focus on what it means to be compassionate people.
Join our Children's Ministry virtual group on Wednesday nights via Zoom at 6:00pm.

We follow Safe Sanctuary policies to provide a safe environment for children, youth, and their leaders. We provide training to our volunteers, background checks, follow safe adult-child ratios, and follow a sign in-sign out procedure.
Children in Worship
Children are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary throughout the entire worship service. However, we also offer the following services:
(Infant-2 yrs) We offer continuous nursery care throughout our Sunday morning activities. Our nursery workers are trained to provide safe, loving care for your child, including Infant/Child CPR training.
After the children’s sermon, each child is invited to come to children’s church. This service is devoted to helping children appreciate worship, and uses the Kids Own Worship approach. Bible stories and worship concepts are presented at a foundational level that helps each child worship at their own pace. On the first Sunday of the month, children return to the sanctuary after the sermon and join their families for communion; every other Sunday, children may be picked up in Room 13.
Children's Worship Resources
At the entrance of the Sanctuary there are children’s activity bags with toys and quiet activities available for younger children 3-6 yrs old. Children's bulletins are also available. Ask an usher for help finding these items.
2nd-6th grade children are welcome to participate in the wonderful responsibility and honor of assisting in worship by becoming an Acolyte, Child Greeter, or a Children’s Church assistant. All roles are on a monthly rotation.
Children are given the opportunity to have an adult in the church who will serve as a prayer partner for them as they grow. They meet twice a year for breakfast at the church. Prayer partners are Safe Sanctuary trained and pray for the children, encourage the children, and offer their time to mentor the children in the church. This ministry is on-going and children can sign up for a prayer partner at any time!
Children's Activities Throughout the Year
In addition to our Sunday and Wednesday programs, we have plenty of activities and retreats offered throughout the year. Every year, there is a "Trunk or Treat" near Halloween and an Easter Egg Hunt in which the whole church participates. Our older elementary children look forward to our help in sending them to Camp Cedar Crest every summer for a week filled with nature, fun, and faith development, and children of all ages enjoy our Vacation Bible School. We also have regular scheduled activities for our families, including:
Parents' Night Out
Parents' Night Out is held at the church once a month for children ages 6 months to 5th grade. This ministry provides affordable childcare for a night out for parents in a safe, loving, Christian environment. The children are served dinner, participate in fun activities, and conclude the evening with a movie. The event is held from 5:00 pm -9:00 pm one Friday per month. Cost is $10 per child. You may sign up on the sign up sheets on bulletin board in the children's wing or by e-mailing the Children's Ministry Director at [email protected]
Our children participate in at least one mission project per month! Most recently, they put together bags for a missionary to Peru to deliver on her medical mission trip in March. They have also recently packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child, gone Christmas Caroling, participated in a fundraising event for Special Kids at Ascent, helped clean the church, and more! We are always looking for ways to serve!
