Meet the Staff at Trinity

A preacher’s kid growing up in East Tennessee, LeNoir felt a call to ministry early in life. In preparation to respond to this call, she attended Tennessee Wesleyan College and then Vanderbilt Divinity School. She later completed a D.Min at Vanderbilt. After serving appointments in the Holston Conference, she and husband, Barry, moved to Middle Tennessee where Barry began his work as a chaplain at Vanderbilt hospital, a ministry he continued for 36 years. In the meantime, LeNoir received appointments to Donelson Heights, College Grove, Epworth, Madison Street and then to the Superintendency of the then Murfreesboro District. After 45 years of ordained ministry, LeNoir retired but continues to serve on the Board of Ordained Ministry, the Project Transformation Advisory Council, and provides counseling to clergy through Reflective Supervision. LeNoir enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with friends. Barry and LeNoir now live in Murfreesboro with their corgi, Cocoa and tuxedo cat, Skittles. They also share their home with great nephew, Drew, as he attends MTSU (it’s nice to have a 19 year old in the house again!). Their son, Gavin, is the Project and Portfolio Manager at the Anschutz Corporation in Denver, Colorado.

A native of Tennessee, Kristen Donahue found her passion serving churches in an administrative role. She serves as the Administrative Assistant and Treasurer at Trinity UMC. She has a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics and an A.S. in Accounting. She is married to Mike Donahue and loves spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew. Kristen has been on staff since 2020.

Nick has been singing since he was born! Musical theatre has been his passion since he began performing in 2004. He has had the honor of performing in venues all over the world, from Tennessee to Italy. He received his bachelor’s degree in vocal music education from Tennessee
Tech University in 2016. Since then he has been teaching music in the public school system. He currently serves as the music specialist at Stewarts Creek Elementary. Previously he was also the children’s choir director at Cookeville UMC and taught musical theatre at the Cumberland County Playhouse.

Stephen Burnette currently serves as the Director of Music for Trinity UMC. Outside of Trinity, he also serves as the Artistic Director of Murfreesboro Little Theatre and as freelance pianist. He teaches a beginning choir class with a local Murfreesboro Homeschool Co-op, and private voice and piano lessons. Stephen is extremely excited about the forthcoming opportunities and challenges. Stephen has been on staff since 2017.

Leslie Trail is the Children’s Director at Trinity UMC. She has a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Cumberland University and has been on staff since 2014.

Sheryl Mabry serves as the Director of Youth & Family Ministries. She came to Murfreesboro to attend MTSU and fell in love with the city. She worked for 12 years in ministry with college students after graduation and now enjoys working with a broader age range here at Trinity UMC. She has two children, Brandon who attends Blackman High and Kelsey who attends Blackman Middle. Sheryl has been on staff since 2014.

Kirsten McDaniel is our Nursery/Preschool Director. She previously worked as a lead teacher in our Preschool program for two years. She has had children in the Trinity program. Kirsten has served as an educational assistant for special education and developmentally delayed students and served as director for Teaching Family Homes Model, a program where staff supports adults with developmental disabilities. Kirsten has been on staff since 2020.
